When used correctly, Yahoo! Answers can be a source of direct referral traffic, even for small Cies who have time to handle this new channel and are not afraid sometimes by some “stupid” or “strange”questions!

My tip: Follow the guidelines, and as with any other social media site, focus first on what you can give to the community rather than what you can get from it.

What do you think about this marketing channel?

Claude – I think you are exactly right that being a knowledge partner is a great way to build trust between consumers and a brand. I look forward to seeing watching it as it moves out of beta. Great post!

Building credibility and brand awareness through this channel is an excellent idea. It’s almost free and it reaches the target market. The only cost in using this channel is the time employees take to surf and answer questions instead of doing whatever else they would be doing at that time.
Great post and a great idea.

I currently use yahoo answers. For the Banff travel market there are always people wanting to know about jobs in Banff. It is a great way to greet people to the area and offer suggestions. There aren’t as many travel questions as there are employment.

Still a great site to gain credibility with their points system!
